As a contemporary artist I am always looking for new inspiration and ways to grow. I am completing my second year in a Botanical Illustration degree program from the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. I am having fun working with water color, colored pencil and pen and ink mediums. Working with new mediums has stretched me and helped me look at floral art with a new appreciation.
It was my privilege to design a series of floral art coins for the Royal Canadian Mint. It was amazing to see how their engravers transformed a two dimensional image into a work of art on a coin.
While attending the Pacific Northwest College of Art I was exposed to encaustic painting. Encaustic painting is an amazing medium that fine artist have been using for thousands of years.
